Alan and Breana were married on January 2, 2016 at Central Christian Church in downtown Lexington, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.

Triangle Park Ice Rink

Alan and Breana prepared for their wedding day overlooking the Triangle Park ice rink in Lexington, Kentucky.

There’s no better way to ring in the New Year than filming a wedding, right? We were super excited when Breana booked us earlier last year and couldn’t wait to work with the team of AWESOME vendors she assembled for her wedding day. We loved the thought of filming a wedding video right around New Years and just knew working with Breana, Alan and their families would be a blast. This was definitely an incredible wedding full of beauty, elegance, fun and lots of celebrating!

We arrived at the Hilton in downtown Lexington where Breana was finishing with her makeup preparations and hanging out with her bridesmaids. We had just enough time to whisk her beautiful white dress off to a tunnel over Vine Street just a few minutes before she put it on. Ryan headed up to the guys’ room where Alan was getting ready. He was able to spend a few minutes capturing footage for the wedding video of Alan putting on his tuxedo and hanging out with his groomsmen.

One of the many things we LOVE about filming weddings is when we have the opportunity to reconnect with couples whose wedding we filmed years before, and it just so happened that Alan has been longtime friends with Clay, a former Reel Special groom who married his sweet bride Mandy back in 2013!

The first look took place in downtown Lexington at Gratz Park. We love this area not only for the natural beauty it already has, but also for the sweet, intimate setting it offers (there are also some gorgeous places nearby to get great photo and wedding video shots of the couple!). One of our absolute FAVORITE moments on the wedding day is when the groom sees his bride for the first time and Alan’s reaction did NOT disappoint. So sweet!

While the sun beamed down we were able to work alongside Claire Marie and Barrett, the wonderfully-talented duo that is Claire Marie Photo. Y’all, the sun was in the absolutely p-e-r-f-e-c-t place while we all captured these two lovebirds. And can we just take a minute and give thanks for whoever is responsible for those two gorgeous red and blue homes that sit side-by-side across from Gratz Park?! These are the things that make our hearts pitter-patter with excitement when it comes to producing a fun, colorful wedding video! And did you see that sweet little twirl by Breana…so presh!

The wedding ceremony was held at Central Christian Church in downtown Lexington.

We soon made our way over to the church for more photos. It was pretty cold, but you wouldn’t be able to tell from the wedding video since everyone in the wedding party were such troopers!

The wedding ceremony was held at Central Christian Church in downtown Lexington. The sanctuary was beautifully decorated with red poinsettias and tall tapered candles lining each pew. Everything was beautifully put together. We especially loved the creative floral bouquets and boutonnières done by the very talented Erica Svec with Hide and Seek Design. Erica’s talent is unending and we marvel at her ability to consistently create the most stunning floral masterpieces!

The ceremony was officiated by a pastor and long-time family friend of Breana and her family. The pastor shared a sweet message for the couple and talked about how marrying your best friend means choosing that person for life. It also means changes in your priorities. Oh how true this is! We just loved the words he mentioned and loved capturing every special moment for the wedding video! Close friends and family added a special touch to the ceremony by lighting candles and sending the flame forward for Alan and Breana to light the unity candle. This was the first time we had seen this done and we LOVED it! So special!

After the ceremony we quickly zipped over to the Carrick House, without a doubt one of the most beautiful wedding venues around. Each table held beautifully created centerpieces of winter themed flowers and wreaths while candles provided a warm glow throughout the space. We can’t say enough good things about all of the hard work and planning that went into this day by Breana’s mom, Theresa and her dear friend Francie who helped to plan and coordinate many details of the day.

Guests enjoyed a brief cocktail hour before finding their seats and waiting for the newlyweds to be introduced. It wasn’t long before Alan and Breana were announced along with the bridal party, then guests enjoyed a delicious meal and spent the rest of the evening breaking it down on the dance floor. This crew could dance and Kentucky Pro DJ knew exactly how to keep the party going to the very last song! Jason and his team are so great to work with!

And speaking of the last song, we’re convinced Alan and Breana had one of the best “last song” dances we’ve ever filmed. Within the first few bars of “Don’t Stop Believing”, friends and family naturally started forming a circle, put their arms around one another and BELTED the popular Journey song at the top of their lungs! It. Was. Awesome. Near the end of the song Alan and Breana danced in the center before guests were ushered outside for a sparkler send-off complete with an antique Bentley as their getaway vehicle.

Martine’s Pastries provided the delicious cake for dessert.

We loved being a part of Alan and Breana’s wedding day. Alan and Breana, we hope that as you look back on your wedding video you will be able to relive and cherish your amazing day. We are so honored and grateful that you chose us to capture it and wish you all the best for many years to come!
