Dillon + Laura: Wedding Video Highlights from London, Kentucky

Dillon and Laura were married on August 1, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church in London, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   It feels like forever ago when Laura contacted us about filming her wedding video. Laura and Dillon were both busy in school so nailing down their vendors early on was key in their wedding planning process. We loved talking with Laura this past summer to hear details of their big day. You could definitely hear how excited she was about marrying her groom and we were excited to be heading back down south to film another beautiful London, Kentucky wedding. We first arrived at the church where Laura was with her bridesmaids and Dillon with his groomsmen. Since there wasn’t going to be a first look before the ceremony, it was important to keep them hidden from one another as we were outside capturing footage for the wedding video. Laura looked absolutely perfect in her fitted white wedding dress. And that red hair! Gorgeous! Her bridesmaids were a lot of fun to be around, especially being around one of our former brides who tied the knot at Talon Winery…Morgan! Both Laura and Dillon seemed so laid back and were so excited to see one another. We loved getting to spend time with them both before the events of the evening unfolded. Before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony to begin! The ceremony was located at First Presbyterian Church in London, Kentucky. This was an exceptionally beautiful church located in the heart of London. The flower-covered arch made for an... read more

Jason + Ashley: Lexington Center Wedding

Jason and Ashley were married on June 20, 2015 at The Lexington Center in downtown Lexington, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   You know when you meet a couple and you can just tell when they’re in love? Jason and Ashley were that couple. We loved meeting them well over a year ago to hear their big plans for their wedding day. Jason and Ashley are both pharmacists and work a crazy amount of hours, so they were wise to choose the awesome folks at Doug Smith Designs + Events to help coordinate their Lexington Center wedding. We arrived at the Hyatt Regency Center in downtown Lexington where Ashley was getting ready with her bridesmaids. The girls had just finished enjoying a mimosa bar and time together before Ashley put on her stunning lace dress. Did you see the intricate design on her wedding dress? And how that jeweled neckline shimmered? It was an exquisite dress to say the least! Ashley was so calm and happy throughout all the preparations, and before long Ashley’s mom was helping her to zip her dress and get ready for the first look with her dad. We love first looks between the bride and groom, but there’s something incredibly special about a first look between a father and his daughter (it’s a moment that always brings tears to Brittany’s eyes…seriously)! We loved capturing Ashley’s dad’s reaction on the wedding video, and of course, Ashley was beaming and radiant the whole time! After Ashley and her dad spent a few minutes chatting about the... read more

Will + Allison: Keeneland Wedding

Will and Allison were married on June 13, 2015 at Second Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   It would be impossible to forget the evening we met Allison early last summer to talk about her wedding to Will. Ryan was wearing one of his favorite shirts from Valhalla Golf Club and Allison immediately lit up when she saw it…little did we know that both Allison and Will were avid golfers and both played in college (Allison played for Centre College and Will played for the University of Kentucky). After we chatted about golf for a few minutes, we got down to wedding business and Allison told us all about the plans for her and Will’s wedding day. Allison shared with us that she and Will have been together since high school and after it was clear after being around them on their wedding day that they share a special bond built on deep love and loyal friendship. We were so thrilled that Allison and Will chose Reel Special to capture their wedding video and we couldn’t believe how quickly this past year flew by…We were tickled pink when the wedding day finally arrived! Our first location was at the Hyatt in downtown Lexington where Allison and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Lang and Kate, the husband-and-wife duo with Lang Thomas Photography, had just arrived and were capturing shots of the preparations so we started filming footage for the wedding video while the beautiful bride was getting the last few bobby pins placed in her hair.... read more

Cody + Morgan: Fasig-Tipton Wedding

Cody and Morgan were married on June 6, 2015 at Fasig-Tipton in Lexington, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   We l-o-v-e June weddings and couldn’t wait to capture Morgan and Cody’s big day! Although we hadn’t met Cody, we knew Morgan well…she’s our dental hygienist so Brittany and Morgan have been talking about wedding plans over the past year. We were thrilled to see everything come together and this Fasig-Tipton wedding was absolutely gorgeous! We first arrived at Griffin Gate Marriott where Morgan and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Brittany was able to capture some wedding video footage of Morgan having last minute makeup touches done while Ryan was just across the hall with Cody capturing prep shots with his groomsmen. Morgan was beaming from ear to ear with excitement…it was so precious! And even though this day was supposed to be all about the bride and groom, Morgan was so thoughtful and sweet! Not only did she write a heartfelt letter to Cody, but she also had special surprise gifts and notes for both her parents. Not long after Morgan was zipped and buttoned in her gorgeous, sparkling champagne wedding dress, we hopped on a golf cart along with the awesome dynamic duo Claire and Barrett Singleton with Claire Marie Photography and zoomed off to the location for Morgan and Cody’s first look. We positioned Cody and reminded him a couple times not to turn around…he was so excited to see his bride! Morgan arrived in a separate golf cart and gracefully walked up behind Cody to tap... read more

Chris + Janelle: Beautiful Wedding at Talon Winery

Chris and Janelle were married on May 14, 2015 in a beautiful wedding at Talon Winery & Vineyard in Lexington, Kentucky and Reel Special Productions had the honor of capturing their wedding video. Check it out below.   We couldn’t wait to connect with Janelle and Chris once we learned they were engaged! When we first met the couple to talk about the wedding day plans, it was clear from the start just how much Chris and Janelle love each other. We could see the passion they shared simply in the way they looked at one another…it was incredible! To truly understand Chris and Janelle’s relationship, you need to know a bit more about this lovely couple and how they met. Chris has a super-highly-top-secret-job at Lockheed-Martin (actually, we just forgot to ask him about his job but we’re just going to stick with what we’ve got there), has a son (Ethan) that loves sports and is full of energy, and is actively involved in various outreach efforts and ministries at Southland Christian Church (where we also worship and serve). Janelle is on staff at the church and has a HUGE heart for serving people in our community. In fact, Janelle helps coordinate a mentoring program for elementary aged kids at the same school where Brittany teaches in Lexington (side note: Ryan was a volunteer mentor this past school year and had a blast!). Janelle is also involved with Serve the City, a ministry that involves throwing birthday parties, hosting cookouts and simply meeting people where they are to show them the love of Jesus. How amazing is that?! In the fall of 2012, Southland attendees were invited to enter in the midst of major... read more

Ryan + Megan: Wedding on a Gorgeous Kentucky Farm

Ryan and Megan were married on May 16, 2015 on a private Kentucky farm and Reel Special Productions filmed their wedding video. Check it out below!   It seemed as thought it was just yesterday when we first talked to Ryan and Megan about capturing their wedding. The lovely couple had their first date on the family’s gorgeous Kentucky farm — Steele’s Acres — so it was only appropriate that they would choose to have their wedding on that very same farm! After hearing all the special and intimate details of their day, we knew this was going to be an amazing event and we were not disappointed as we captured their wedding video! We first arrived at the home where Megan and her bridesmaids were getting ready. The girls had just finished with hair and makeup and Megan was ready to slip on her gorgeous white wedding dress. Despite the rainy forecast, all the girls were full of energy and excited to get the day going. Megan’s mom fastened her dress and added the final touches with stunning pearl earrings and a beautiful necklace. The girls soon headed to the ceremony venue on a party bus and Brittany was able to capture some really fun shots for the wedding video…especially when Megan read a card her mother had written to her for her wedding day. Ryan and Megan chose not to see one another before the ceremony so it was definitely an adventure keeping them from crossing paths once the full wedding party was all in the same area on the farm. Before the groom headed up to the house where he was planning to get ready, Ryan was able to capture some fun shots of the guys shooting guns and having a... read more

St. Lucia Vacation Video and Photos

Brittany and I had a wonderful time in St. Lucia over her spring break of 2015. As one might expect, we simply could not leave the cameras at home so we took plenty of photos and made this fun little highlight video of our trip. This St. Lucia travel video includes several timelapses and follows suit with previous travel videos we created including our trips to Aruba, Isla Mujeres, Mexico (several times…here’s another video) and St. Thomas / St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands). Wedding Video Highlights: Charlie + Holly

Charlie and Holly were married on March 14, 2015 at A. Keller Farm in Cynthiana, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   What an honor to return once again to film our THIRD wedding on the Ammerman family farm! When we first heard that Charlie, the brother of Sarah and Rachel (check out the links to see the highlight videos from their amazing weddings) was getting married, we were REALLY hoping we would have the opportunity to film it and were overjoyed when Tina, Holly’s mom, reached out to us and confirmed that they did in fact want us to capture their daughter’s wedding video. We refused to let the threat of rain spoil the day or limit us from capturing some great shots for the wedding video, so we departed from Lexington about an hour early and once we arrived on the property, we saw a break in the clouds and quickly veered off to the side of the road to capture some aerial footage of the fast flowing river and stunning farm landscape. A substantial amount of work had been done in the days leading up to the wedding thanks to the torrential downpours and the snow melting off the gentle rolling hills surrounding the farm. We were so thankful the rain let up and soon after capturing the aerial footage, the clouds continued to break apart and the warmth of the afternoon sun meant we had a rare but beautiful March day to make a wedding video! We can’t put into words how grateful and welcomed we felt when we arrived to the location where Holly and her bridesmaids were... read more

Wedding Video Highlights: Austin + Kelsey

Austin and Kelsey were married on December 20, 2014 at John L. Hill Chapel in Georgetown, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   From the moment we met Austin and Kelsey, we knew they were a special couple and the love between them seemed strong. Kelsey was beaming from ear to ear as we discussed the details of their wedding day, and after hearing the magical ideas and winter-wonderland vision she had for the big day, we were so delighted when she and Austin chose us to capture their wedding video. We arrived at the chapel a few minutes early to capture aerial footage for the wedding video. We moved inside where Kelsey was hanging out with her bridesmaids while Austin was playing cards with his groomsmen. These two were so excited yet so calm and we just loved being there to capture it all. Kelsey did a great job holding back her tears when she received a sweet letter from Austin along with a beautiful wintery bouquet of flowers. A few minutes later she stepped into her gorgeous lace wedding dress and made her way to the chapel where the first look took place. We couldn’t wait to capture the look on Austin’s face; to say that Kelsey looked stunning would be quite an understatement! Before seeing Austin for the first time, Kelsey did a first look with her Dad…it was so precious! After Dad had a chance to spend a few minutes with his daughter before giving her away, we cleared the chapel and had Austin stand at the end of the candlelit aisle. The winter-wonderland themed chapel came to life as Kelsey gracefully walked... read more

Wedding Video Highlights: Collin + Aly

Collin and Aly were married on December 6, 2014 at The Livery in downtown Lexington, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   Collin and Aly are just an all around amazing, talented and passionate couple. We were so glad we had the opportunity to spend some time with them before the wedding day and learn more about their story. Collin and Aly met in sixth grade, and although their lives led them on many different journeys (including a successful career in New York City for Aly and a major league baseball career for Collin), this sweet couple chose to combine their paths forever when Collin asked for Aly’s hand in marriage. Considering their amazing love story, it was truly an honor for Reel Special Productions to capture the next chapter in this love story by filming their wedding video. We first arrived at Gratz Park Inn where we captured some beautiful footage of Aly’s preparations. The bridesmaids were having final touches done with their hair and make up by the oh-so-talented Allison Johnson with Pink Lou Lou Design Studio. Aly and her bridesmaids enjoyed some quality time together before Aly got ready to meet her groom for their first look. Brittany stayed with the girls at the Gratz Park Inn while Ryan headed over to Collin’s incredible downtown apartment to capture wedding video footage of the guys getting ready. We were so glad Collin and Aly had us there to film the preparations; one of our favorite parts from the day was capturing each of them opening their gifts and reading the heartfelt letters they wrote and exchanged before the first look. Hearing their words to... read more

Wedding Video Highlights: Clint + Anne

Clint and Anne were married on October 18, 2014 at St. Peter Parish in Lexington, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   Can we just start by saying how sweet Clint and Anne were? We were elated when this lovely couple booked our wedding video services well over a year before their wedding day, but it wasn’t until this summer that we had the opportunity to meet with them face-to-face. The newlyweds were planning their wedding from the windy city of Chicago where they currently reside, but thanks to Anne’s keen attention to detail and remarkable lineup of wedding vendors, everything was pretty much planned and ready to go long before the big day arrived! We were so excited for October knowing this was going to be a wonderful wedding…and we couldn’t have been more right! Our first filming location was a magnificent suite at Gratz Park Inn where Anne was getting ready with her bridesmaids. Upon our arrival Anne had just finished getting her  makeup done by the fabulously-talented Ana Crane. The bride-to-be was so calm, relaxed, and more than anything…excited! As soon as the photographer arrived we all got in place and captured Anne moments after she stepped into her stunning white wedding dress and sparkly Kate Spade heels! After all the girls finished getting ready they gathered around Anne to see her open her gift from Clint. As if there was any question, Clint was clearly the perfect match for Anne and you could tell by her reaction to his sweet gifts. Anne was simply smitten by the engraved necklace that she wore as part of her bridal jewelry. Moments later we strolled over... read more

Wedding Video Highlights: Gabriel + Courtney

Gabriel and Courtney were married on October 11, 2014 at The Gheens Foundation Lodge at Beckley Creek Park in Louisville, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   Courtney contacted us well over a year ago about the possibility of filming her wedding. She was busy planning for the wedding while her then fiancé, Gabriel, was away playing professional baseball for the Missouri River City Rascals. We were so excited when they decided to book our wedding video services and we just knew they would be the “pitcher” perfect couple to capture! Their wedding day was so perfect and we loved how the baseball and outdoors theme resembled their lives together. We first arrived at Beckley Creek Park, where both the ceremony and reception would take place. This location is a beautiful park nestled just as you enter Louisville. It’s a relatively new park but one thing is for sure…we think it is one of Louisville’s best-kept secrets when it comes to stunning wedding venues! Courtney would soon be arriving with her bridesmaids so we captured some aerial shots for the wedding video before starting with the prep footage. After capturing some detail shots, Courtney arrived and was ready to put on her wedding dress in preparation for her first look with her Dad and with Gabriel. We can’t even begin to explain how precious her Dad’s reaction was the first time he saw his little girl on her wedding day…so sweet! Once Gabriel arrived with his groomsmen we were soon ready to head out to a remote spot in the park where the sweet couple shared their first look. It was so... read more

Wedding Video Highlights: Robert + Lindie

Robert and Lindie were married on September 20, 2014 at Elk Creek Vineyard in Owenton, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   We first met Lindie last January at Kentucky Bride Magazine’s glamorous bridal show called How Charming! Lindie was so excited about her wedding plans coming together and was looking into booking a videographer. Boy, are we glad she and Robert chose us to capture her wedding video! Rustic. Outdoors. Nature. Beauty. Antlers. There were so many unique details Robert and Lindie included in their wedding theme and each one blended perfectly with the others. And if that wasn’t enough, the weather was absolutely perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. Just perfect! Filming at new venues is always exciting for us, but when we first arrived at Elk Creek Vineyard and stepped out of our car we literally had to catch our breath and pinch ourselves to make sure it wasn’t a dream. The scenery was simply stunning. We were a few minutes early so we decided to get some cool aerial footage for the wedding video. Next we went to the Elk Creek Inn to meet up with Lindie and her bridesmaids. Lindie took a few minutes to show us the special details with her jewelry which symbolized something old and something borrowed. Shortly after Lindie’s mom arrived at the Inn, Lindie put on her gorgeous white dress and we headed out to capture wedding video footage while Willie Wilson took some photos. There was a beautiful old barn just down the hill from where Lindie got ready, so we all trekked down and were able to... read more

Wedding Video Highlights: Jamie + Katelyn

Jamie and Katelyn were married on September 6, 2014 at First Christian Church in Georgetown, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   It was another gorgeous Saturday in the Bluegrass and we were so excited to head to the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort to capture footage for Jamie and Katelyn’s wedding video. As we were walking in, we were overjoyed to see Katelyn’s sister, Jenna, getting ready in the room next to Jamie. Earlier this year, Jenna got married and also chose Reel Special to capture her wedding to Tim (here are highlights from their wedding day)! Once we arrived, we headed straight up to the bridal suite where Katelyn was having final touches done to her hair and makeup. We knew it was going to be a pretty spectacular day once we saw how calm and excited Katelyn was to marry her groom, and to top it all off, we got to work along side the amazingly-talented husband and wife duo, Matt and Kelsey with Malicote Photography. After capturing some great prep footage, Katelyn put on her beautiful lace dress, slipped on her shoes and headed out the door for her first look with her soon-to-be husband, Jamie. As Jamie zipped away on a golf cart to head to exact spot of the first look — a gorgeous bridge leading to the 14th tee box on Griffin Gate’s immaculate golf course. Once Jamie was in place, Katelyn grabbed her bouquet and made the short walk across the bridge to meet Jamie…it was such a precious moment and we absolutely love capturing that moment for the wedding video! Wedding Video Highlights: Matt + Becky

Matt and Becky were married on August 23, 2014 at the Frazier History Museum in Louisville, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   We first arrived at the Galt House to capture some shots of Becky and her bridesmaids getting ready so we could include that footage in the highlights for the wedding video. Becky looked absolutely stunning, which came as no surprise considering her über-talented sister, Allison (owner of PinkLouLou with a rockin’ blog on glamorous hair, makeup and life adventures), did her hair and makeup for this special day. Becky is super close with Allison and her other sister, Hannah (who currently lives in Hawaii…we’re jealous!), so once Allison and Hannah helped Becky with the finishing touches, the bride emerged from her suite in the Galt House and nearly brought her bridesmaids to tears. From the hotel it was on to a beautiful park in old Louisville where Becky would meet her groom-to-be. Needless to say, but we were SOOOO excited to be a part of this special day! We arrived at the park with Becky and scoped out the best place for the first look with Matt, her groom. Claire and Barrett with Claire Marie Photo found the perfect spot for this incredibly special moment, so we hid Becky in our car as Matt made his way underneath a long ivy-covered trellis where he and Becky would soon greet one another (we can’t begin to tell you how much we love capturing the first-look for a wedding video!). Wedding Video Highlights: Cory + Sydney

Cory and Sydney were married on August 9, 2014 at the First Church of God in Morehead, Kentucky and chose and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below. Wedding Video Details We arrived at the church a few minutes early so that Ryan could capture some gorgeous aerial footage for the wedding video. We soon entered the room where Sydney, her mom and the bridesmaids were finishing up with last minute touches. Sydney’s mom helped zip up her dress and fastened all the buttons and a couple of the bridesmaids helped her with her veil placement. It was so fun to see Sydney so excited for her first look with her groom! (and it was clear that Cory was just excited to see her)! After walking around for a few minutes with the talented Stewart-Hunter Photography team, we scoped out the perfect spot for Cory and Sydney’s first look. Rain from earlier that day had somewhat limited our options for the location of the first look, but we loved where we ended up…in front of a stone and brick wall that also created a beautiful backdrop for many of the formal bridal party shots. Before Sydney made her way out to greet her groom, we got to spend a few minutes alone with the groom and talked about his time thus far as an officer in the Army. As Cory waited patiently for his bride to walk up behind him, Sydney approached the pavilion in her stunning wedding dress. The look on Cory’s face was priceless when he turned around to see Sydney for the first time on their wedding day. We LOVE capturing this special moment for the wedding... read more

Joe and Kayse were married on June 28, 2014 at a wedding in the Red River Gorge in Slade, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   Wedding Video Details Joe and Kayse contacted us awhile back after both checking out our work online. They were planning a small, intimate family ceremony and reception and wanted a wedding video to remember this special occasion. This wonderful couple has been together for a little over 14 years and finally decided to tie the knot, so it was a huge honor for us to document this very special day for them. After they reached out to us and told us their unique and somewhat challenging plans for a wedding ceremony, we knew right away this was a wedding we wanted to film. We first arrived at the cabin at Red River Gorge Retreats. Joe met us at the bottom of the driveway as he was waiting on the food truck to arrive. Yes, that’s right, a food truck (more on that later)! After greeting Joe, we drove up the steep hill to meet Kayse and the rest of her family. Kayse had just slipped on her dress and was eager for what was to come. After seeing some ominous clouds roll into the area, we were getting a bit nervous about the weather but everyone kept such a positive attitude that we just rolled with it. We captured some great wedding video footage of Kayse then loaded up our gear and headed out to the Red River Gorge where we would soon begin our hike... read more

Eric and Aspen were married on June 14, 2014 at Georgetown Baptist Church in Georgetown, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.   Wedding Video Details One handsome groom. One beautiful bride. Two people in love. Gorgeous Kentucky weather. Perfect day. We arrived at the church moments before Aspen’s mom zipped up her wedding dress. Ryan was able to capture some aerial footage of the beautiful architecture of the church, then we made our way in to hang out with the bride and her bridesmaids a few minutes before the first look. We were able to capture Aspen’s excitement on the wedding video as she was spending the last few minutes with her bridesmaids before her first look with Eric. Eric stood on the alter waiting for his bride. Of course the first look is always a special and private moment, but how could Aspen’s bridesmaids not peek in through the church door windows? It was quite precious and so was the way Eric looked at Aspen as he turned to greet her after she tapped his shoulder. They embraced. They kissed. They hugged and then they prayed. These two love each other and this is more than obvious when looking at the wedding video. You know what’s also pretty special? The way they sought to honor God in their wedding ceremony. We can relate and cherish the times when we work with others who feel the same. The ceremony was held at Georgetown Baptist Church in Georgetown, Kentucky, where Aspen’s family calls home. The sanctuary was an intimate setting with beautiful hydrangeas and... read more

Wedding Video Highlights: JD + Brandi

JD and Brandi’s wedding video was filmed by Reel Special Productions on May 24, 2014 at the Carrick House in Lexington, KY.    Wedding Video Details What a beautiful day it was for a wedding! We arrived at the Carrick House moments before Brandi zipped up her gorgeous wedding dress. The beautiful bride and her bridesmaids were finishing up with last minute make-up touches and enjoying some time together before the festivities began. It was so much fun trying to keep Brandi hidden from JD (they chose not to see each other until Brandi was ready to walk down the aisle to meet him). We were fortunate to work alongside Matt and Becca from Renaud Photography capturing some shots of Brandi and her bridesmaids as well as getting wedding video footage of JD getting ready. JD was such a fun and easygoing guy to be around…and MAN does he know a thing or two about movies! In fact, JD has his own movie review and podcasting business called InSession Film where he covers a variety of films (we can only hope our wedding film of his special day will get a rave review as well!). But JD’s personality wasn’t the only reason why we clicked…He LOVES Michigan football! That’s right…he’s a die hard Michigan Wolverines fan so Ryan was on cloud nine filming this wedding since he is a fellow Michigan fan himself. Both the ceremony and reception took place at the magnificent Carrick House in downtown Lexington. The ceremony was arranged in front of the elegant, cascading waterfall and the reception took place in the grand ballroom. And speaking of the ceremony, did you... read more

Rachel spent nearly a decade of her life growing up on this farm and in March of last year her older sister Sarah tied the knot here (Sarah and Dustin also chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding day! With stunning views of the city skyline surrounding us, it seemed as though we could reach out and touch the KFC Yum! Center where Kyle, a former University of Louisville basketball player, helped the Cardinals rise into a national championship caliber program over the last several years. Now a professional basketball player for Asefa Estudiantes in Madrid, Spain, Kyle was focused on leading his team to victory while Taraneh was busy assembling an all-star team of wedding vendors for her wedding day (We must take a timeout and give a big “thanks” to Gustavo Alfaro Photography for introducing Taraneh to Reel Special Productions for her wedding video!). After spending around an hour capturing footage of the preparations for the wedding video highlight reel, we headed to The Olmsted where the rest of the day’s festivities would take place. Kyle and Taraneh planned to have both Persian and American ceremonies, so we knew this day would offer us an opportunity to capture wedding video footage unlike anything we’ve previously filmed and we were so excited for this new experience. The traditional Persian ceremony was first and featured several unique Iranian traditions as well as a lavish outpouring of gifts from the select group of friends and family present. The Catholic ceremony followed, this time before several hundred guests... read more

Wedding Video Highlights: Tim + Jenna

Tim and Jenna’s wedding video was filmed by Reel Special Productions on May 10, 2014 at St. Peter Catholic Church and the Boone Center in Lexington, Kentucky.    Wedding Video Details We first met up with Tim, Jenna and the wedding party at Ashland Estates. Once Tim and Jenna walked off the limo bus, we quickly got the party started. Despite a mostly overcast afternoon, on a few occasions the sun broke through the clouds and we were able to capture some awesome intimate shots of the bride and groom together. In the first few minutes with the soon-to-be newlyweds, we could tell that Tim and Jenna were madly in love with one another, and we also picked up on the fact that their wedding party was going to be a blast to capture for the wedding video as well. All the guys and girls stuck together throughout most of the afternoon and we were able to capture some great footage with everyone. After spending some time filming at Ashland Estates along side Alicia Fierro with Aesthetiica Photography, we quickly hopped in our cars and within moments the rain started falling. Fortunately, we had all the shots we needed for the first portion of the wedding video and it was time to head to the church where Tim and Jenna would tie the knot! The ceremony was held at the absolutely beautiful St. Peter Catholic Church in downtown Lexington. The church provided a simply stunning setting with stained glass windows and beautiful wooden pews lining the sanctuary. The wedding ceremony included passages of Scripture and heartfelt vows that united Tim and Jenna together as husband and wife.... read more

Wedding Video Highlights: Luke + Ellen

Luke and Ellen’s wedding video was filmed by Reel Special Productions on April 26, 2014 at First Christian Church, Moundale Manor and the Winchester Opera House. The newlyweds chose “I’ve Waited Long Enough (instrumental)” for their wedding video.   Wedding Video Details He is a respected Wall Street executive who grew up in London, England. She is an accomplished writer and health coach from Lexington, Kentucky. Together, Luke and Ellen make an adorable pair who came all the way from New York City to Winchester, Kentucky for their stunning destination wedding. So what drew them to such a quaint Kentucky town known mostly as the home of Ale-8-One, a popular Kentucky soft drink? It turns out that Ellen wanted to get married in her father’s hometown of Winchester and Kentucky had a lot to offer for guests coming from all over the world. Leading up to the wedding, the bride and groom celebrated their wedding week with a trip to Keeneland, drinks at McCarthy’s and a host of other fun activities in the Bluegrass (wouldn’t it have been fun to capture all these activities for their wedding video?!). The weather couldn’t have been more perfect to film our first wedding video of 2014. We arrived at the church a few minutes early so we could get some footage of the beautiful building and decor. While the wedding party was getting ready at Moundale Manor, we were able to get some creative shots and coordinate some shooting logistics with the church coordinator and priest (both of whom were an absolute pleasure to work with). It wasn’t long before Luke and Ellen’s family and... read more
