Brandon and Ansley were married on October 24, 2015 at Sugar Bay Villa in Discovery Bay, Jamaica and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their destination wedding video. Check it out below.

We couldn't have imagined a more beautiful location for Brandon and Ansley's destination wedding in Jamaica. (This photo is from one of the many time lapses we captured from their private villa).

Words won’t do justice to the AMAZING wedding we captured in Jamaica with Brandon and Ansley along with their closest friends and family. When we first received an inquiry from Ansley about filming their destination wedding video in Jamaica, we were so excited about the possibility and have a very special place in our hearts for Jamaica. After talking with both Brandon and Ansley on a Skype date, Ryan and I did a little dreaming of our own on what it might look like to film this wedding and let’s just say it was heavenly. We were ecstatic when the couple decided to book us and knew that this was going to be an amazing experience for everyone involved. Oh yeah…there was one other important piece of information we forgot to share: Not only were we going to film a wedding in paradise, but it just so happened to be the same weekend we would celebrate our five year wedding anniversary AND Ryan’s birthday!

Thursday. We arrived in Jamaica with our gear in hand and a couple of small bags packed. Since making this same trip back in July to produce a video for a missions organization in Jamaica, we were extremely well prepared with packing and carrying our equipment which allowed us to sail through Jamaican immigration and customs without a single setback. Once on the ground in Montego Bay, Jamaica, we were both anxious to reach our hotel, get our cameras ready and head to Sugar Bay Villa where Brandon and Ansley were welcoming their family. The couple invited us along for their wedding rehearsal so we could capture family members giving their wedding toasts in a more intimate setting which worked out perfectly for the wedding video. And y’all, this family was so precious. From the moment we walked in the door every single person treated us as though we were family and it made this experience so much sweeter for us. And do you want to know another incredible part to this destination wedding extravaganza? Working along side Melissa G Photography! She. Was. Awesome. We had such a blast working together and if you haven’t seen some of her sneak peeks from this wedding, then you need to…like, now! We’ll say it loud and we’ll say it clear: Reel Special Productions and Melissa G Photography are a destination wedding video and photo dream team!

Friday. Brandon and Ansley welcomed their close friends and family members for an afternoon Jamaican pool party. Everyone hung out, splashed in the pool, played games and enjoyed a cookout from the incredible Sugar Bay Villa Staff. Bigger, the grill master, fired up the grill for a pig roast. Yes! A whole pig was on that grill. Wayne, the fabulous bartender, had the party going with fun cocktails and drinks. We loved being able to capture everyone laid back and having a great time. One of our favorite parts of the wedding video was Brandon and Ansley jumping in the water with our Go Pro. Epic. These two, I tell ya, so much fun! Every hour we filmed literally flew by. Before long it was time to head back to our hotel to prep for the big day.

Saturday. It’s not every Saturday we wake up and get to film a wedding in Jamaica. I’m pretty sure we both had a few butterflies in our stomach thinking about the day. We prayed that everything would be perfect and God definitely answered our prayers. Our driver arrived at the hotel to pick us up and take us to the absolutely GORGEOUS villa. Ansley was just starting to get ready with hair and makeup when we arrived. She spent time with her sister and best friends sipping mimosas, laughing and prepping for the biggest day of her life. Brandon was at another beautiful villa right next door that the couple’s close friends rented which worked out so perfect! Brandon spent some quality time hanging out with his guy friends before getting ready for the wedding. We were able to capture some pretty breathtaking shots for the destination wedding video of the villa, the landscape and the oh-so-beautiful Jamaican ocean water.

Caribbean Pantry Catering (the wedding planners) and the amazing Sugar Bay staff worked tirelessly to prepare everything just perfect. And let’s not forget about Brandon and Ansley flying to Jamaica with 18 bags of wedding decor between them and the rest of their friends and family. Many of the decorations were handmade and prepared for this once-in-a-lifetime destination wedding and were absolutely incredible. Can we just sing Ansley’s praises for a moment? She has an AMAZING talent and the thoughtfulness surrounding this wedding made it so much more special! The color scheme was on point, the flowers were simply stunning  and the love behind every detail was abundantly evident.

Once Ansley put on her stunning Anthropology white wedding dress, we were able to whisk her away to the dock overlooking the water for some amazing shots. It wasn’t long before Brandon and Ansley shared their first look. He, of course, was in awe of Ansley (as we all were!). While we were with the bride and groom capturing various wedding video footage, family and friends enjoyed a cocktail hour before the ceremony began which worked out perfectly considering the quick rain shower that arrived and nourished the dry Jamaican ground (one of the many things we LOVE about Jamaicans is their perspective, so when they refer to rain as “showers of blessings” you don’t let a little rain change your mood!). After the rain passed, the sun began to set and we all made our way to the end of the dock where Brandon and Ansley would marry. The ceremony was beautiful and we all had tears in our eyes over the vows Brandon and Ansley shared. And if the backdrop of Jamaica wasn’t stunning enough, God gave us the most breathtaking sunset right as the couple were announced as husband and wife. We had been able to capture some amazing footage up to this point, but we knew at that moment that this destination wedding video was going to be amazing!

The reception started with a catered meal by Caribbean Pantry, arguably one of the best wedding caterers in Jamaica. Everyone enjoyed eating under the stars with café lights strung all around and before long the first dances were shared. Iniques Band, which by the way, is probably THE best wedding band we have ever heard in our entire lives, had everyone in full-party mode from the moment the first note was played. Friends, family and even the vendors who helped make the day happen joined together in the celebration. There were really no words for the joy on Brandon and Ansley’s faces at the reception. They dreamed of a fairy tale wedding where everyone around them would feel overwhelmed with love and happiness, and that is EXACTLY how the night ended.

We absolutely LOVED being a part of Brandon and Ansley’s destination wedding in Jamaica. It was a perfect day and the perfect setting for another page to be written in this inspiring love story.

Brandon and Ansley, we hope that as you look back on your wedding video you will be able to relive and cherish your amazing day. We are so honored and grateful that you chose us to capture it and wish you all the best for a lifetime to come!
