Clay and Erica were married in a wedding at Trinity Hill United Methodist Church in Lexington, Kentucky.

Clay and Erica have such a sweet story that starts at the University of Kentucky College of Law. Clay says they met at a law school mixer. Erica’s recollection of meeting Clay came down the road, but once she noticed Clay…REALLY noticed him…the rest was history. Erica just lit up telling us the story of how they met and how she couldn’t stop thinking about Clay. And Clay…what a guy…if we only had enough time to share some of the raw footage that includes him talking about when he knew…REALLY knew…that he wanted to marry Erica. Oh. My. Heavens. Trust us, you’d be in tears just like we were. Stories like Clay and Erica are why we love…REALLY love…what we do.

But let’s rewind for a moment, shall we? Clay and Erica were initially on the fence about having a videographer when they contacted us to learn more. We were so glad that they did! We hit it off immediately and were SO excited when they told us their reception venue was at The Livery, one of our absolute FAVORITE places to film. And if filming at The Livery wasn’t going to be magical, the fact that this was a December wedding made it so much more special! We love EVERYTHING about December weddings!

We left the initial meeting with Clay and Erica SUPER excited about their incredible wedding plans and the possibility of filming their wedding video. Needless to say, we were THRILLED when they told us they wanted to move forward with our services!

Now fast forward to the wedding day. We arrived at Trinity Hill United Methodist Church just off Tates Creek Road in Lexington and we started filming as Erica and her bridesmaids were finishing last minute hair and makeup touch-ups. Erica was hidden away in the back part of the church so Clay wouldn’t see her, but with how brightly she was beaming it was hard to keep her excitement contained!

The ceremony was filled with special elements. At the start of the ceremony, a photo slide show showed pictures of Clay and Erica with their families — and then eventually together — before the bridal party entered and the ceremony got underway. But that’s not the only special element. The minister for the ceremony was Clay’s brother-in-law…we always love when the wedding officiant knows the couple we’re filming because everything he or she says tends to be more personal and heartfelt. This definitely rang true for Clay and Erica!

Clay and Erica shared their first dance immediately upon arrival at The Livery in downtown Lexington.

Oh, did we mention how thoughtful these two are? As guests entered the church, they received a HANDWRITTEN note from the bride and groom. Every. Single. Guest. So, so sweet! We made sure to capture some shots in the wedding video so Clay and Erica could see the reactions of people picking up their cards. There were lots of smiles!

Once the ceremony got underway, the minister challenged the soon-to-be newlyweds with a wonderful message before Clay and Erica exchanged vows and rings. And then it happened…the minister announced the newlyweds as Mr. and Mrs. Turner and the sanctuary erupted with applause and cheers!

Right after the ceremony, we rounded up the bride and groom along with the bridal party to capture some footage of everyone together for the wedding video. The sun was beginning to set, so we moved quickly along with the super-sweet Cassie Lopez Photography to get some stunning shots of the newlyweds. Two words: GOLDEN HOUR. We’re convinced God made it just for photographers and videographers (can we get an “AMEN” from our fellow photo/video peeps?!). We shuffled everyone back inside the sanctuary for some family photos then headed downtown for the reception.

Established in 1868, the original Lexington Livery stabled horses and carriages passing through town. Today The Livery is home to central Kentucky’s finest events. This was our second wedding event filmed at The Livery and we PRAY we can film there lots more in the future. What do we love about The Livery? E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. We love the historic structure with modern details, and we also love that the owners are just really great guys.

Ok…now that we’ve swooned over The Livery enough, back to the wedding details. 🙂 Clay and Erica’s friends and family gathered in the front part of the venue space for a fabulous cocktail hour. Once Clay and Erica arrived, the newlyweds graced their way right onto the dance floor and wooed everyone with a fun, choreographed swing dance. It was absolutely fabulous! Guests were then invited to move to the back part of The Livery where they enjoyed a DELICIOUS meal by Bayou Bluegrass Catering (side note: This was the second wedding in a row we worked alongside this catering company and y’all, they are the REAL DEAL. Their food was so, so, SO good! We may need to bribe the owners to get their chutney recipe!). Seriously, their food was top notch!

Our good friend Jason Henninger with Kentucky Pro DJ set the mood just right with music and up-lighting around the venue. He is truly one of the best in the business and we L-O-V-E how hard he works to keep us and all the other vendors on the same page…THANK YOU, JASON!!

The Livery was a beautiful wedding reception location in Lexington for Clay and Erica.

As guests enjoyed dinner Clay and Erica made a special point to visit with every table and mingle with their friends and loved ones. As we stood from afar filming all the smiles, the laughter, and the many other precious moments that Clay and Erica will treasure for a lifetime to come, we couldn’t help but think that WE were the ones who were blessed to witness such an incredible celebration of love. It was truly the perfect night for this sweet, sweet couple!

Clay and Erica, we LOVED having the opportunity to capture your wedding day. We hope that as you look back on your wedding video you will be able to relive and cherish every single moment. We are so honored and grateful that you chose us to capture it and wish you all the best for many years to come!
