Jason and Ashley were married on June 20, 2015 at The Lexington Center in downtown Lexington, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.

You know when you meet a couple and you can just tell when they’re in love? Jason and Ashley were that couple. We loved meeting them well over a year ago to hear their big plans for their wedding day. Jason and Ashley are both pharmacists and work a crazy amount of hours, so they were wise to choose the awesome folks at Doug Smith Designs + Events to help coordinate their Lexington Center wedding.

We arrived at the Hyatt Regency Center in downtown Lexington where Ashley was getting ready with her bridesmaids. The girls had just finished enjoying a mimosa bar and time together before Ashley put on her stunning lace dress. Did you see the intricate design on her wedding dress? And how that jeweled neckline shimmered? It was an exquisite dress to say the least! Ashley was so calm and happy throughout all the preparations, and before long Ashley’s mom was helping her to zip her dress and get ready for the first look with her dad. We love first looks between the bride and groom, but there’s something incredibly special about a first look between a father and his daughter (it’s a moment that always brings tears to Brittany’s eyes…seriously)! We loved capturing Ashley’s dad’s reaction on the wedding video, and of course, Ashley was beaming and radiant the whole time!

After Ashley and her dad spent a few minutes chatting about the rest of the day that would follow, we headed down to the rotunda in the Lexington Center with the fabulously talented Alicia Fierro with Aesthetiica Photography to capture some shots before Jason and his groomsmen joined us. Brittany stayed with the girls while Ryan whisked off to meet Jason and his groomsmen to capture some prep shots for the wedding video. The guys had just arrived at the downtown Lexington Hyatt and needed to finish prepping before heading out to take photos. Jason was so excited to see Ashley so we didn’t take long before we went down and got him in place for the first look.

Once everything was set, Ashley gracefully walked up to Jason and his reaction did not disappoint. He was absolutely smitten with his bride and we can’t blame him! After the first look we ventured around with Alicia and captured some awesome shots of the lovely couple. Alicia’s keen attention to detail and her creative eye helped us tremendously; it’s always such a joy working alongside her!

The ceremony was located in the spacious pre-function area outside the Bluegrass Ballrooms. Glenn with Doug Smith Designs + Events did a marvelous job putting the picture perfect wedding together. Every detail of the wedding was flawless and elegant. Beautiful blush pink flower arrangements were stunning and helped create a breathtaking wedding scene. Jason and Ashley had a custom designed aisle runner from Starry Night Design Studio that was centered between classic white wooden chairs. The ceremony was officiated by a minister who had known Jason since he was a baby. Jason and Ashley shared sweet vows with one another, the minister had them exchange rings and in no time the newlyweds were sharing their first kiss! Jason and Ashley were officially married and ready to begin celebrating with close friends and family!

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour in the open area before entering the ballroom for the reception. While family and friends enjoyed appetizers and drinks, we dashed outside with Alicia and captured wedding video footage of Jason and Ashley while Alicia worked her photography magic.

The Lexington Center wedding reception in the Bluegrass Ballroom was one of the most stunning we have ever captured. Long tables were arranged with family style seating. Pink and purple up-lighting cast a romantic feel while beautiful rose arrangements adorned each table. And where do we even begin with the cake?! Words just can’t do justice to the amazing cake that hung from the tall ballroom ceiling. As far as the planners were aware, this was the first time a wedding cake had been suspended from the ceiling in Lexington and it was simply an incredible sight to see. This was also a very special cake because it was the very last wedding cake for Rachel with She Bakes Cakes (we’re going to miss capturing your incredible creations but we wish you the best, Rachel!).

The wedding cake was hanging from the ceiling. Beautiful job, She Bakes Cakes!

Guests enjoyed a delicious three course dinner all before breaking it down on the dance floor to tunes played by Stays in Vegas, a talented band from Cincinnati. To make it an even more perfect evening, friends and family gathered around Jason and Ashley on the convention center balcony to release LED balloons before ending the night. Everything was beautiful and we were so honored to capture it all for their wedding video.

Jason and Ashley, we loved having the opportunity to capture your stunning Lexington Center wedding and we hope that as you look back on your wedding video you will be able to relive and cherish all the amazing moments that took place. We are so honored and grateful that you chose us to capture it and wish you all the best for many years to come!
