Kyle and Taraneh’s wedding video was filmed on July 5, 2013 at The Olmsted in Louisville, Kentucky by Reel Special Productions.

We arrived on Friday afternoon and headed to two separate suites high atop the Marriott in downtown Louisville where Kyle and Taraneh were separately preparing with their wedding parties for the big day. With stunning views of the city skyline surrounding us, it seemed as though we could reach out and touch the KFC Yum! Center where Kyle, a former University of Louisville basketball player, helped the Cardinals rise into a national championship caliber program over the last several years.

Now a professional basketball player for Asefa Estudiantes in Madrid, Spain, Kyle was focused on leading his team to victory while Taraneh was busy assembling an all-star team of wedding vendors for her wedding day (We must take a timeout and give a big “thanks” to Gustavo Alfaro Photography for introducing Taraneh to Reel Special Productions for her wedding video!).

After spending around an hour capturing footage of the preparations for the wedding video highlight reel, we headed to The Olmsted where the rest of the day’s festivities would take place. Kyle and Taraneh planned to have both Persian and American ceremonies, so we knew this day would offer us an opportunity to capture wedding video footage unlike anything we’ve previously filmed and we were so excited for this new experience.

The traditional Persian ceremony was first and featured several unique Iranian traditions as well as a lavish outpouring of gifts from the select group of friends and family present. The Catholic ceremony followed, this time before several hundred guests who came from near and far.

At the conclusion of the ceremony Kyle and Taraneh moved outside to the steps of The Olmsted where they released two doves to symbolize starting their new journey together (sidenote: it was especially fun to watch the wedding video footage and see all the funny facial expressions as the doves flew by guests just inches overhead!).

Kyle and Taraneh’s wedding reception had the perfect blend of American and Iranian traditions and featured famous Persian singer/songwriter Farshid Amin who was flown in along with his band from Los Angeles to perform for the guests. The celebration ended in exquisite fashion with the newlyweds departing the reception illuminated by the glow of sparklers and the roar of an Audi R8 as they sped away to their next adventure.

At the end of the day, Reel Special Productions was thrilled to capture TWO beautiful ceremonies and a marvelous reception for Kyle and Taraneh and we are confident their wedding video will be treasured for generations to come!
