Surrounded by a stunning championship golf course and conveniently nestled between downtown Lexington and the Kentucky Horse Park, the Griffin Gate Marriott is without a doubt one of the most beautiful, all-inclusive venues to hold the ideal wedding in central Kentucky.

Reel Special Productions has had the opportunity to film several wedding videos at the Griffin Gate Marriott, but one of the most impressive aspects about this venue is the fact that each wedding is uniquely designed to reflect the style of the bride and groom on their special day.

This was certainly the case for Ben and Jacquelyn, who chose the Griffin Gate Marriott as their destination wedding location.

We arrived in mid-afternoon and began setting up for the first look in front of the spectacular Griffin Gate Mansion. We first met Ben and spent some time talking about his excitement that this day had finally arrived. Before long we coordinated plans with the photographers and sent Ben inside the Mansion to await the arrival of his bride-to-be. After setting up multiple camera angles to ensure we had just the right shots for the wedding video, Jacquelyn arrived and made her way to the top of the steps in front of the Mansion. Within minutes Ben and Jacquelyn shared one of the sweetest first looks we’ve captured (and we’re so glad we put a microphone on Ben…although the audio from the first look was not included in the wedding highlight video, we’re confident it is something Jacquelyn will treasure forever).

After Ben and Jacquelyn saw each other for the first time, we were able to spend much of the afternoon with them as they took photos with their family and the wedding party. This time allowed us to capture some incredible shots for the wedding video and allowed Ben and Jacquelyn to have lots of quality time together both alone and with their loved ones before the wedding ceremony began.

Before we knew it the ceremony was underway and the vows were exchanged. Not only did the ceremony include the traditional wedding vows, but Ben and Jacquelyn exchanged their own vows to one another which were deeply heartfelt and sincere (these are the vows included in the wedding video above). We also loved how special the bond was between Jacquelyn and the minister since he has known her since she was a little girl.

After the ceremony we captured some beautiful sunset shots for the wedding video on the immaculately-kept golf course and then moved into the main reception area at Griffin Gate. The reception got underway with the talented Larry Lee, one of our favorite wedding DJs and the owner of SoundWave Mobile DJ. Ben and Jacquelyn went immediately into their first dance (which happened to be to one of our all-time favorite songs, In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel) followed by the formal dances with her dad and his mom. If you pay close enough attention when watch the wedding video, you’ll also see footage from Jacquelyn’s sorority sisters who sang a very special song for the newlyweds before the toasts and cake cutting.

The reception flowed seamlessly thanks to great planning and outstanding service by the staff at Griffin Gate Marriott. We wrapped up filming Ben and Jacquelyn’s wedding video by getting some unique shots of the ice sculpture provided by Lexington Ice Sculptures and borrowed their wedding rings to get close-up shots of the newlyweds’ impressive bling.

We had such a great time capturing Ben and Jacquelyn’s wedding video and considered it a tremendous honor to be a small part of their perfect wedding day!
