Justin and Katie were married on September 14, 2013 at a family farm in London, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.

Southern hospitality. Southern charm. Southern food (fried, of course!). Justin and Katie saw to it that all the necessary ingredients were in place for a true southern wedding and we were beside ourselves with excitement just thinking about all the special elements that would be shown in their wedding video.

We arrived at Katie’s grandparents’ home on a sunny Saturday afternoon and were instantly greeted with smiles and sweet tea. After a quick meet-and-greet with the lead photographer (Genya with Vue Photography out of Atlanta, Georgia), the bride-to-be stepped into her wedding dress and we were soon headed to the family farm a mile or so down the road.

As soon as we turned on to the property and saw the immaculate landscape featuring a massive pond, a barn full of thoroughbreds and a white tent that seemed big enough to fit the population of a small city, our minds started spinning with ideas on how to capture the wedding video in a way that Justin and Katie would treasure forever. We spent the better part of an hour before the ceremony filming shots of Katie and her bridesmaids before they traded places with Justin and his groomsmen.

The ceremony took place on a grassy hill overlooking the pond and the late afternoon sun slowly set in the background. The pastor talked about the significance of the wedding day, Justin and Katie recited their vows and the couple were pronounced as husband and wife amidst their several hundred of their closest friends and family.

Shortly after the ceremony the newlyweds were introduced and the reception got underway. Although we don’t typically capture wedding video footage of food that is served, we couldn’t help ourselves and captured some shots of the impressive spread that awaited guests. Outside the tent there was an ice-cream float station, a photo booth, bistro tables and even some cozy couches and arm chairs for guests to relax in as the joyous evening progressed.

Guests savored a warm cup of coffee along with some delicious cake by Martine’s Pastries as the crisp fall breeze moved across the farm. After making their way through a fun sparkler send-off, Justin and Katie departed for their first night together as a married couple and the Jamaican honeymoon that awaited them.

Justin and Katie, it was a privilege to produce your wedding video and we are excited for you both to share your lives with one another. We hope you will treasure the memories from your wedding day with a little help from Reel Special Productions!
