We first met Lindie last January at Kentucky Bride Magazine’s glamorous bridal show called How Charming! Lindie was so excited about her wedding plans coming together and was looking into booking a videographer. Boy, are we glad she and Robert chose us to capture her wedding video! Rustic. Outdoors. Nature. Beauty. Antlers. There were so many unique details Robert and Lindie included in their wedding theme and each one blended perfectly with the others. And if that wasn’t enough, the weather was absolutely perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. Just perfect!

Filming at new venues is always exciting for us, but when we first arrived at Elk Creek Vineyard and stepped out of our car we literally had to catch our breath and pinch ourselves to make sure it wasn’t a dream. The scenery was simply stunning. We were a few minutes early so we decided to get some cool aerial footage for the wedding video. Next we went to the Elk Creek Inn to meet up with Lindie and her bridesmaids.

Lindie took a few minutes to show us the special details with her jewelry which symbolized something old and something borrowed. Shortly after Lindie’s mom arrived at the Inn, Lindie put on her gorgeous white dress and we headed out to capture wedding video footage while Willie Wilson took some photos. There was a beautiful old barn just down the hill from where Lindie got ready, so we all trekked down and were able to capture some epic shots for the wedding video. The sunlight couldn’t have been more perfect and Lindie was so much fun to be around! Ryan went over and captured the guys hanging out before the ceremony, and before we knew it, we were heading down to setup for the wedding ceremony.

The ceremony took place at Elk Creek Vineyards and was comfortably nestled in a valley surrounded by rolling hills of bluegrass. Wedding guests were chauffeured to the ceremony site on an old-time trolley by Lindie’s sweet uncle, and as the last few guests were seated, Robert lined up with his groomsmen anxiously awaiting his bride. The trolley’s last trip brought Lindie and her bridesmaids down the hill and they made their way towards the stage for the ceremony.

Live music by The Tuna Project kept the reception hopping. Lindie's father is a guitarist in the band.

Robert and Lindie chose not to see each other before the ceremony, so naturally their smiles were beaming from ear to ear when they first saw one another (this is without a doubt one of our most favorite parts when capturing wedding video footage!). The minister shared a wonderful message on love and marriage, the rings were exchanged, and the vows were shared. As Robert and Lindie lit the unity candle, Lindie’s father played a song he composed…yet another special touch that helped make this wedding so unique. As the ceremony ended and the guests began to applaud, Robert and Lindie’s dog Goose even chimed in to celebrate the newlyweds. It was absolutely precious!

At the conclusion of the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy a cocktail hour before they were seated for the reception meal. Lindie had always dreamed of having a long row of family style seating on her wedding day and although Elk Creek Vineyard had never tried this setup, it turned out better than anyone could have imagined. While guests sat beneath twinkling lights in the middle of the beautiful venue, they were treated to a fabulous dinner catered by Jewell’s on Main. Robert and Lindie made sure to take time with each couple and family that were there and shortly after the meal was complete, the newlyweds shared their first dance together. In keeping with the unique and personal touches, Lindie’s mother made the special blueberry lemon cake that the newlyweds cut and shared and several other desserts were handmade by loving family members. Lindie traded out her wedding shoes for her dancing boots and everyone had a blast dancing at the reception thanks to the smooth live music played performed by The Tuna Project, a band which includes Lindie’s dad on electric guitar. To end the night, friends and family gathered around the bride and groom to release Chinese lanterns into the night sky. We couldn’t have imagined a better way to end a perfect night, and it was so much fun getting shots of the lanterns for the wedding video!

Robert and Lindie, your wedding day was filled with so much love, beauty, and peace and we so enjoyed being with you all as we filmed your wedding video. We will be praying God richly blesses your marriage and we hope you will treasure your wedding video for many years to come. Thanks again for choosing Reel Special Productions!

As if the reception venue was beautiful enough on it's own, the night ended with a majestic display of Chinese lanterns floating into the night sky.
