We met Chad and Megan what seems like forever ago! The lovely couple was newly engaged and just starting to put together plans for their wedding. We were so thrilled when they told us they wanted to book us to film their wedding video. Another December wedding? Yes, please! We L-O-V-E December weddings…there just seems to be so much romance in the air around this time of year! Little did we know then their wedding day would turn out to be a warm, beautiful, sunny day (we are absolutely NOT complaining…it was a marvelous surprise)!

We arrived at the Hilton in downtown Lexington where Megan was minutes away from putting on her gorgeous cathedral dress. Chad was in another room getting ready and spending some quality time with his groomsmen. Megan was so excited and very laid back…all the while spending special time with her bridesmaids and mom. Once Megan put on her dress, we stepped into place to capture the details of her mom and sister buttoning the beautiful gown. Megan looked stunning and her smile beamed from ear to ear!

After donning the wedding shoes, Megan sat down to open the letter and gift Chad gave her. He put together the sweetest scrapbook that had pictures and treasured memories from their dating relationship. You could definitely tell he put a ton of time and thought into making it! He also gave Megan a beautiful mirrored jewelry box that had a special engraving on it (Chad’s adorable son carried this box down the aisle…it was SO precious)! As soon as Megan finished reading the letter Chad wrote, we headed to the church where the couple shared their first look.

Chad and Megan's first look on their wedding day took place in the BEAUTIFUL private courtyard garden at Central Christian Church.

Chad and Megan’s first look on their wedding day took place in the BEAUTIFUL private courtyard garden at Central Christian Church.

One of the many things we love about Central Christian Church is the stunning architectural design of the building. To the side of the church sits a beautiful, private courtyard area with old, iron gates enclosing a brick path. It. Is. Beautiful! Chad faced away from the door where Megan would enter. He was so excited and ready to see his bride! Megan walked out of the doors and graced her way along the brick path. She tapped Chad on the shoulder and he turned around with pure delight in his face. The moment the bride and groom share together during their first look is always something we love to capture for the wedding video!

Following the first look, we worked along side the oh-so-fun and very talented Wes with Wes Brown Photography to capture some amazing shots of Chad and Megan together (shout out to Jeremiah who was second-shooting with Wes!). We were able to capture footage of the bride and groom for the wedding video before we left for The Carrick House where the bridal party gathered for photos. And y’all…We couldn’t have asked for better weather. Seriously, we were able to stay outside all afternoon capturing some super awesome footage! We sure would love more spring like days in December…we’re saying our prayers for December 2016 and beyond! Before we knew it, it was time to prep for the ceremony and give Chad and Megan some refresh time before they were to say their I do’s!

The ceremony was located at Central Christian Church in downtown Lexington. The sanctuary was beautifully decorated with hundreds of poinsettias which helped fill the room with the feel of Christmas. Everything was sweet and simply perfect! And did we mention earlier how cute Chad’s son is? I mean…he hammed it up on the wedding video as he walked passed the camera on his way down the aisle. He was too cute!

Once everyone was set, Megan and her dad came down the aisle…we loved seeing all the smiles on people’s faces when they saw Megan in her long flowing dress and veil! The minister did a wonderful job charging the couple with a message before he had them exchange their vows and rings. Close friends and family added a special touch to the ceremony with scripture reading and special music. The ceremony ended with a sealing of their marriage (they held on for a loooooooong kiss and everyone had a good laugh!) and they were announced as the newly Mr. and Mrs. May!!!

Tinker’s Cake Shop provided a spectacular five-tiered cake for the wedding reception at the Carrick House in Lexington.

The reception was at The Carrick House just minutes away from the church. Doug and Glenn with Doug Smith Designs did a flawless job on the details and ambiance for the beautiful reception. As guests entered, they enjoyed a cocktail hour in the foyer area of the ballroom. Shortly thereafter, friends and family took their seats in preparation for Chad and Megan’s introduction. Everyone enjoyed a delicious buffet meal by Lundy’s while our FAVORITE Lexington band, Superfecta, played in the background. And the cake was provided by none other than Tinker’s Cake Shop…Cameron and his creations are always spectacular but this cake…WOW! It looked and tasted INCREDIBLE!

We loved being a part of Chad and Megan’s wedding day. Chad and Megan, we hope that as you look back on your wedding video you will be able to relive and cherish your amazing day. We are so honored and grateful that you chose us to capture it and wish you all the best for many years to come!
