Kit and BethAnn were married on October 7, 2017, at the Barn at Cedar Grove in Greensburg, Kentucky, and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.

Kit and BethAnn met in the supply closet at a hospital where they were both working as nurses. At first, Kit thought BethAnn wasn’t interested in him (she said she was just focused on her patients), but over time the two developed a friendship that eventually led to them dating. Working long hours but sharing the same schedule, Kit and BethAnn found themselves spending nearly all their time together, and ultimately they realized they wanted to make it a “happily ever after” deal.

Fast forward to about a year ago when this sweet couple contacted us about the possibility of filming their wedding video. Since they lived out of town and we all had busy work schedules, we set up a FaceTime date and quickly knew that this wedding was going to be incredible. One of the first things we do is search Google images when we receive an inquiry to film a wedding video in a new place, and seeing pictures of their wedding venue had us swooning and daydreaming from that moment on. Insert allllllll the praise hands when Kit and BethAnn chose us to capture their special day…we were so excited not just because of the beautiful venue, but because we could tell this couple had such a beautiful relationship. What an honor it was to learn that they wanted us to document their wedding!

We love capturing footage of the preparations and special moments before the ceremony.

We arrived at The Barn at Cedar Grove and immediately started capturing shots of the bridal party getting ready. Preparation footage is so important to us because it allows us to capture moments that the bride and groom would not get to experience otherwise. Photos capture moments in time, but preparation footage in a wedding video really allows our couples to see their significant other in the sacred moments before the wedding day, even though these are some of the moments that may be quickly forgotten by the time the day has come and gone.

We also spent some time documenting the beauty of the venue itself. Everything about The Barn at Cedar Grove was charming and inspiring. BethAnn was tucked away in the cutest little bridal cottage while Kit was in the groom’s cabin, a man cave that worked perfectly for the guys to get ready. When Brittany arrived at the bridal cottage, the girls had already set up the PERFECT dress shot (amazing, right?!). And did you notice those bouquets on the wedding video? By the beautiful looks of them, you’d NEVER guess they were made out of PAPER. They were meticulously crafted and SO impressive! After capturing some detail shots for the wedding video, BethAnn was anxious to get her dress on and ready to see her groom at the end of the aisle.

The Barn at Cedar Grove is one of the best spots to get married in all of Kentucky.

As Kit and BethAnn’s wedding proved, the Barn at Cedar Grove is a beautiful location for a wedding ceremony and reception.

Ryan spent time capturing Kit and his side of the bridal party getting ready. Kit donned an impressive designer watch for the ceremony, then had his best man help tighten his tie, put his suit coat on, and make sure he was looking his best for the big moment when he would soon see his beautiful bride. One of the many unique things we loved about this wedding was the fact that both Kit and BethAnn broke the norms when it came to who to include in their bridal party. BethAnn had one of her best guy friends serve as a “Man of Honor” and Kit’s side included his sisters as groom’s gals (instead of groomsmen…get it?!). We just loved their willingness to think outside the box!

The wedding ceremony took place in the beautiful green field beside the barn. As guests entered the ceremony spot, they were able to sign a beautiful hand-painted globe that served as their guest book. This was so perfectly fitting since their guests had come from all over the world…literally! There was even one point in the ceremony where a groomsman recited all the countries that were represented, and it was so amazing to hear how so many people came from so many places to this small town in Kentucky…all to celebrate and show their love for Kit + BethAnn!

Believe it or not, BethAnn’s bouquet was made of paper. Impressive, right?!

And speaking of the ceremony, did y’all hear their vows on the wedding video? Cue ALL the tears! They were simply beautiful and so heartfelt. There was no denying their love for one another as they took their hands and united together as one. After the minister shared a lovely message and charge to the couple about keeping their marriage commitment, Kit kissed his bride and they were introduced as the newly Mr. and Mrs. Afable!

The reception was held inside the Barn at Cedar Grove. Before guests settled in, Ryan was able to capture the picturesque setting of the family style tables decorated to perfection. Each table highlighted warm fall colors with touches of leaves as the centerpieces. Café lights were strung throughout the barn to create the perfect evening mood. The newly minted husband-and-wife duo were introduced and had their first dance, and soon after guests were treated to a delicious southern meal complete with sweet cornbread. Then came the cake cutting and toasts, and as soon as those were complete Kit + BethAnn’s friends busted out into a choreographed dance…it was a FLASH MOB!!! Dozens of attendees learned the dance and totally surprised Kit + BethAnn…it was an INCREDIBLE performance! Before the song was over the newlyweds joined in on the dance floor and celebrated with their closest friends and family, and for the remainder of the evening the DJ had everyone breaking it down on the dance floor. To make the evening even more perfect, a late-night snack of White Castle burgers were brought out for guests to enjoy. Yum!
