Wedding in Maysville, Kentucky

Adam and Amy were married on the farm where Amy was raised in Maysville, Kentucky.

It was about this time last year that Amy called us to talk about the possibility of filming her wedding video. Amy’s sister-in-law, Erika, is a dear friend of ours and recommended our wedding video services to Amy and it’s pretty neat how God orchestrated the opportunity to capture Adam and Amy’s special day. We met Erika on a mission trip to Jamaica (we were there to film an informational video for the missions organization) and Erika was one of several mission trip members we with whom we instantly connected. What an honor it was to get the inquiry from Amy and hear that she wanted us to capture the biggest day of her and Adam’s lives.

We first arrived at Amy’s family farm where the bridal party was tucked away in their own corner of the house getting ready. Amy was so calm and welcomed us in as though we’d always known each other. She helped gather together the details…her earrings, bracelet and shoes so we could get some close-up shots of them for the wedding video. Her dress hung on her sweet “Mrs. McCord” hanger and we found the perfect spot to hang it beneath the trees overlooking the corn field. You all, this farm was a perfect wedding spot and how incredibly special that this was also the same place where Amy grew up. We absolutely love when couples add such special and sentimental details to their day; it really adds so much love to the wedding!

After Amy put on her beautiful tea length dress, it was time for her and Adam to exchange their letters and gifts to one another. Amy sat in a rocking chair that was passed down from her great grandmother. She read Adam’s sweet handwritten words and opened the most beautiful necklace. Once Adam read the letter Amy had written him, he turned around the present she gifted him: aerial images of their land with one vintage photo and a recent drone photo…What a sweet and thoughtful gift! We could tell both Adam and Amy were a little nervous before the first look, but we knew they’d be starting their happily ever after once they saw each other! We placed Adam in the perfect spot near the front of Amy’s childhood home which is surrounded by beautiful corn fields. Amy gracefully walked out of her parents’ house down to where Adam was standing and she daintily tapped his shoulder so he would know to turn around. As soon as Adam saw his bride, the biggest smile swept across his face! He was in awe and the moment they first saw one another was simply precious (as you can tell from the wedding video!).

Wedding ceremony in Maysville, Kentucky

The ceremony was held on the front lawn and overlooked corn fields as far as the eye could see.

The wedding ceremony took place in front of the beautiful white home perched ever so slightly above the rest of the land around it. Wooden chairs adorned with fall colored ribbon were set up overlooking the fields, and the center aisle started from the front steps of the house where Amy would walk to her groom. Family and friends gathered to witness the union of these two become one and a sweet union it was. Adam and Amy exchanged vows, declared their commitment and love to one another and sealed it all with a kiss! They were introduced as husband and wife, the guests applauded and Mr. and Mrs. Adam McCord were finally married!

The reception was also held at Amy’s family’s farm, and there was certainly no shortage of pumpkins to remind folks that autumn had arrived. Amy’s grandparents grew the pumpkins on their farm this past year in hopes to have them highlighted throughout the wedding day, and their plan worked to perfection (again, how sweet was this personal touch…even the pumpkins had personal significance to the newlyweds)! The tent was decorated with plenty of country charm and made for the perfect fall-themed southern wedding video.

Adam and Amy mingled with their guests and spent time enjoying their special day with many of their loved ones. Guests enjoyed breaking it down on the dance floor after the cake was cut, and did you happen to see that hog trough dance in the wedding video? You read that right! The hog trough dance was a wedding tradition in Amy’s family, and it was awesome to see everyone laughing and dancing together all while celebrating Adam and Amy! Yay for unique family traditions like this!

The bride and groom were so happy!

Thee newlyweds were radiating with happiness the entire wedding day!

Adam and Amy, we absolutely loved filming your wedding! We hope that as you look back on your wedding video you will be able to relive and cherish your amazing day as if it were yesterday. We are so honored and grateful that you chose us to capture it and wish you all the best for many years to come!
