David and Amber were married on September 26, 2015 on a private farm in Lexington, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.

Who doesn’t love a wedding on a beautiful Kentucky farm? That’s just a silly question…EVERYBODY LOVES A BEAUTIFUL KENTUCKY FARM WEDDING!

You know the saying “The early bird gets the worm?” Well David and Amber knew what they wanted when they reached out to us BEFORE they were engaged so we could discuss wedding video services. Believe it or not, lately we’ve had quite a few couples book us before their engagement…It sure gives us all the feels when couples seek us out that far in advance because they love our approach to telling the story of the wedding day and know we book up far in advance. We enjoyed getting to know David and Amber and loved hearing all the wedding updates as their plans ultimately fit together perfectly.

The day came so quickly and despite the gloomy, overcast weather the morning of the big day, we were over the moon excited to film David and Amber’s wedding video. We were also pretty ecstatic that David just so happened to be the brother of one of our very dear friends, Kelsey Malicote (both Kelsey and her awesome husband Matt were IN the wedding…how fun is that?!).

We arrived at a glorious cabin perched above a large pond on a private farm in Fayette County. Amber was with her bridesmaids while David and several others were scattered around the farm trying to finalize last minute details to the ceremony location before they scurried inside the cabin to get dressed. Amber was getting her hair and makeup glammed up by the crazy-talented Allison Johnson with PinkLouLou Designs (we JUST missed capturing her lovely business partner Dana who helped with the bridesmaids). All the ladies were spending time together while donning their adorable monogrammed robes, listening to music and putting together a few final details for the ceremony and reception.

As we wrapped up with preparations, the cloudy skies slowly started to break apart and the sun shimmered at all the right moments. We knew this was going to be a perfect afternoon for a uniquely-designed barn wedding. We also knew this was a dream setting for a wedding video so we made sure to capture mountains of footage!

Before David and Amber shared their first look, Ryan was able to capture some stunning aerial footage for the wedding video overlooking the ceremony site and parts of the farm. It was B-E-A-UTIFUL! And did you see the old wooden church pews where guests would sit during the ceremony? There were so many intricate details of this day, all thoughtfully planned and so well put together by Amber and her lovely friends who poured their hearts into this very special event.

Seriously… Every piece of the day had so much meaning to it. One of our favorite moments was when Amber walked out on the boat dock overlooking the pond making her way to see her groom for the first time. The couple’s reaction to seeing one another was so incredibly precious! Neither David nor Amber wanted to let go of each other and the tears sure were a flowin’ (and not just by the soon-to-be newlyweds, either)! There was definitely love in the air!

The ceremony was located just down from the cabin and overlooked the enormous pond which seemed to stretch for miles. Friends and family gathered together to see this precious couple tie the knot. Once the groomsmen and bridesmaids were in place, the beautiful bride gracefully walked down the aisle after passing through a set of antique white wooden doors – it was a breathtaking moment for all! A family friend who married David and Amber began the ceremony talking about the events leading up to the marriage of this sweet couple. He mentioned the challenges that took place during the wedding planning and preparation process, but wisely compared it to how marriages all have their ups and downs. He reminded David and Amber that it was important to have one another to share those ups and downs with in life – such a perfect message not only for the couple to hear, but for all of us who were present. Following the officiant’s brief words of wisdom, David and Amber shared vows they had written one another. They laughed, they cried and within minutes they shared their first kiss as husband and wife!

The wedding reception was located in a barn just across the pond on the large private farm. The wedding video doesn’t do justice to just how beautifully decorated this barn was…it was BEYOND epic thanks to all the hard work that David, Amber and their friends put into creating this perfect event space! Tables were arranged with family-style seating and featured old books, china plates and touches of wildflowers for centerpieces.

After David and Amber were introduced, they went into their first dance underneath the gorgeous night sky and strings of café lights. Following their dance, the newlyweds sat down with guests and enjoyed a delicious meal before their special dances and cake cutting took place. We absolutely LOVED the “naked” wedding cake and thought it fit the barn wedding style perfectly. We haven’t filmed many naked cakes at weddings, but this one sure was beautiful! We also loved the fun Star Wars cake Amber ordered for David…so cute and SO thoughtful! The rest of the evening was filled with dancing, laughter and good times!

We loved being a part of David and Amber’s wedding day. David and Amber, we hope that as you look back on your wedding video you will be able to relive and cherish your amazing day. We are so honored and grateful that you chose us to capture it and wish you all the best for many years to come!
