Michael and Erin Marie were married on April 28, 2018, in downtown Lexington, Kentucky, and chose Reel Special to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.

Wedding ceremony at St. Paul Catholic Church in downtown Lexington.

Michael and Erin Marie were married in a beautiful wedding ceremony at the historic St. Paul Catholic Church in downtown, Lexington.

We met Erin Marie and Michael well over a year ago. They had recently gotten engaged and were beginning the wedding planning process when they reached out to us about filming their wedding video. Right from the start, their relationship reflected a strong friendship and deep love. Their story is a pretty sweet one and it was Michael’s job that landed him in Lexington where he would eventually meet his future bride and fall in love. Erin Marie’s job led her to Japan, and even through the long distance their relationship grew and remained strong. These two are the best of friends and it’s so apparent when you’re around them.

We first arrived at what is arguably one of the most charming homes in all of downtown Lexington. Erin Marie was getting ready with all of her bridesmaids in a 1890 Queen Anne Victorian home that her friend, Esther Harvey, has turned into a stunning masterpiece. The bridesmaids were each wearing beautiful antique kimonos (a Japanese garment they wore as robes), and the one Erin Marie wore was over 100 years old!

Once her makeup was complete, she was ready to step into her gorgeous dress. Hopefully, you were following along with our Instagram stories and could see the stunning room where Erin Marie got ready…there is also a sneak of it on the wedding video! The natural light beamed in and highlighted her perfectly red hair and gorgeous wedding gown. It’s always the best feeling when you’re around a giddy bride on her wedding day, and Erin Marie was so full of excitement. She was anxious to get to the church, especially since her and Michael chose not to see each before the ceremony.

While Brittany stayed with the girls, Ryan headed over to the Hilton in downtown Lexington (just a block away from the ceremony location) where Michael and his groomsmen were getting ready. Ryan captured some “wedding video prep” (aka preparation) footage of the guys, then headed over to the church to get some aerial footage before all the guests arrived.

The ceremony took place in the historic St. Paul Catholic Church in downtown Lexington. This was our first time filming a wedding video in this space and we were absolutely blown away by beautiful architecture and colorful stained glass windows. It was stunning!

The newlyweds are the best of friends and their love was such a special thing to capture.

Friends and family filled the pews to see this beloved couple say their I do’s. And did you see the way Michael looked at Erin Marie as she was walking down the aisle? Brittany has always said this, but it is by far her favorite part of the wedding day. Erin Marie’s sweet mother walked her down the aisle to her groom. The priest gave a heartfelt message honoring the couple while sharing their story of how they met, grew their relationship, and fell in love.

There were many special parts to their ceremony, including two of Erin Marie’s bridesmaids leading the congregation in the songs of the service, as well as special reading from a dear friend. As the ceremony came to a close, the priest announced the couple as “Mr. and Mrs.” and the newly married Wilsons had their first kiss as husband and wife.

Michael and Erin Marie were so thoughtful in making sure their wedding day was unique and special. As soon as they stepped outside the church following the ceremony, awaiting them was an absolutely beautiful vintage convertible to whisk them away to the reception, but this wasn’t any old car: the garden green metallic Frazer Manhattan belonged to Erin Marie’s grandfather. Erin Marie’s Mom worked hard to get the car prepped and delivered to Lexington in time for the wedding, and it meant so much to Erin Marie to have a part of her grandfather with them on the wedding day.

We loved spending time alongside Willie Wilson Photography capturing photos and wedding video footage of the newlyweds. We headed over to Gratz Park on what turned out to be the most gorgeous April day! They had corn hole boards set up for a few quick games while the cocktail hour was getting started for guests over at the Carrick House. We loved the look they had with their sunglasses (by the way, Erin Marie’s sunglasses were her wedding gift from Michael from earlier in the day). These two were SO creative and SO much fun to capture!

The reception was held at The Carrick House in downtown Lexington. This venue is one of the prettiest wedding and event spaces in town, and the LexEffect team did an amazing job decorating this venue perfectly to the couple’s style. Before Michael and Erin Marie were introduced along with their bridal party, Erin Marie slipped into a dress she had custom made just for the reception. You all, she was a jewel! Her party dress was perfect for mingling and dancing and that’s exactly what she did (as you could see on the wedding video)!

Family and friends from all over the world – literally – gathered to have one of the greatest nights together. The band was incredible and got everyone out on the dance floor dancing the night away. It was such a special night celebrating these sweet newlyweds!
