Jake and Alex were married in a beautiful wedding at First Alliance Church in Lexington, Kentucky, on August 29, 2020, and Reel Special got to capture their wedding video.
Jake and Alex’s wedding day was an absolute dream come true. While the morning started with a rain shower as Alex and her girls got ready at her family’s beautiful home in Nicholasville, Kentucky, the clouds parted just in time to do a first look with her Dad on the veranda overlooking the beautiful countryside surrounding their farm. It was such a sweet moment to capture between Alex and her Dad…his reaction was priceless and we just loved seeing how proud he was of his daughter.
Jake and Alex first connected in a church youth group when they were teenagers, and what started off as a friendship eventually grew into more. When it came time for college, Jake headed to Auburn University while Alex attended the University of Alabama. While at Auburn, Jake had the honor of serving as a Friend of Aubie the Tiger, the famed mascot for the university. Despite the intense rivalry between Auburn and Alabama athletic programs, Jake and Alex’s relationship proved to be far stronger.
On a family trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Jake proposed to Alex, and she didn’t hesitate to say “Yes!”
The couple chose to have their wedding at First Alliance Church in Lexington, Kentucky, and their reception took place at Lexington Country Club. Both the ceremony and reception were planned to perfection by Alicia Collins, and we loved working alongside Kevin & Anna Photography as well as a stellar team of other first-class wedding vendors.
