Max and Hillary were married on August 8, 2015 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.

M&H-102Max and Hillary were an absolutely amazing couple and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to film their wedding video. It’s easy to love every single couple we work with, but there’s always something extra special about couples like Max and Hillary who have not only been together since their high school days at Lexington Christian Academy, but they also love the Lord and it shows by how they treat others. Both Max and Hillary grew up in the bluegrass and even though their education and career paths led them all over the map, it’s clear that God had a hand in their future because their love for one another brought them both back “home” to Lexington just in time for them to tie the knot.

We loved sitting down with Max and Hillary a few weeks before their wedding to get to know them better. The story of how they first connected was so sweet and we just knew that needed to be a part of the wedding video. We talked about Max’s recent graduation from The Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama (one of the oldest and most distinguished law schools in the nation), and Hillary’s return to Lexington as a reporter for WKYT after spending time working for WYMT in eastern Kentucky. Needless to say, they were both anxious to get home and tie the knot…and we were so happy to be a part of it!

We arrived at Hillary’s parent’s home where Hillary and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Y’all…walking into this home made us feel like we had stepped into a Southern Living magazine…my goodness it was incredible! But it wasn’t just beautiful décor; the true southern hospitality and genuine kindness gave us an instant connection with everyone and it was so wonderful.

M&H-106We quickly captured some footage of Hillary getting her final hair and makeup touches done. We loved working alongside Lynnesy Catron (Lynnesy Catron Photography) to capture some candid preparation moments for the wedding video before Hillary put on her stunning white dress. The intricate details on the wedding dress were simply stunning and looked absolutely perfect on Hillary…that dress was definitely made for her! We especially loved the inscription on the inside of her dress that her sweet mother surprised her with and showed her after she put the gown on. After Hillary shared a precious first look with her dad, we packed up our gear and headed downtown to meet up with Max and his groomsmen.

Two of our most favorite moments from the wedding day happened when Max opened his card and gift from his bride. Hillary wrote out 100 reasons why she was happy to be marrying him and we’re not kidding when we say that you could not wipe the smile off his face! It was pretty special!

And we (and by we, I mean Brittany) LOVED Max’s reaction to Hillary walking down the aisle (maybe because it was the exact SAME reaction Ryan had as I walked down the aisle to him) – did you see him say “Wow!” I mean…that’s a man crazy in love with his bride!

M&H-103It was so great to spend some time before the ceremony with Max and his groomsmen getting wedding video footage of some last minute prep (like Hillary’s brother helping tie Max’s bowtie). It was just an all-around great afternoon before  we headed to the church to see these two make it official.

The wedding ceremony was held at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. The weather was perfect so we decided to capture some aerial shots of the church for the wedding video prior to the ceremony beginning. As guests entered the sanctuary, they were given a program and a small candle. Once the ceremony began, the groomsmen lined the center aisle to lights the guests’ candles. The candlelight created a beautifully-intimate setting for when Hillary walked down the aisle. The couple chose not to do a first look and Max’s first reaction to seeing Hillary was priceless. Ron Edmonson, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, challenged the couple with his encouraging message and Max and Hillary exchanged their rings before they were announced as Mr. and Mrs. Max Smith. Before the newlyweds were whisked away to their reception, guests lined the outside of the church for a bubble send-off. Max and Hillary were glowing with happiness and it was so perfect!

M&H-104The reception took place at The Carrick House in downtown Lexington. Not only did the entire day flow smoothly, but the reception was seamless due to their amazing consultant, Ginny Adkins with Sharing Special Moments. On display at each table were breathtaking floral centerpieces arranged by Max’s mother, Lorry. Blush pink and white roses and hydrangeas were spread throughout the room along with dozens of tea light candles on each table. Soon after the delicious meal served to guests, Max and Hillary made their way over to the center of the ballroom for the special dances.

Superfecta, one of our all-time favorite Lexington bands, opened up the dance floor and quickly had guests moving to the music. If you’re considering a band for your wedding, look no further than Superfecta (they even had Max and Hillary go up on stage and perform!). As the reception came to a close, guests lined up outside The Carrick House doors and wished the bride and groom the best as they exited through a sparkler sendoff. And considering Lexington is the horse capital of the world, the couple left the historic property in a horse drawn carriage where they made their way to Gratz Park Inn before departing for their honeymoon in Antigua.

M&H-107Max and Hillary, we so loved being a part of your wedding day and we hope that as you look back on your wedding video you will be able to relive and cherish all the amazing moments we captured. We are so honored and grateful that you chose us and we pray that God richly blesses your marriage!
