Gabriel and Courtney were married on October 11, 2014 at The Gheens Foundation Lodge at Beckley Creek Park in Louisville, Kentucky and chose Reel Special Productions to capture their wedding video. Check it out below.

Courtney contacted us well over a year ago about the possibility of filming her wedding. She was busy planning for the wedding while her then fiancé, Gabriel, was away playing professional baseball for the Missouri River City Rascals. We were so excited when they decided to book our wedding video services and we just knew they would be the “pitcher” perfect couple to capture! Their wedding day was so perfect and we loved how the baseball and outdoors theme resembled their lives together.

We first arrived at Beckley Creek Park, where both the ceremony and reception would take place. This location is a beautiful park nestled just as you enter Louisville. It’s a relatively new park but one thing is for sure…we think it is one of Louisville’s best-kept secrets when it comes to stunning wedding venues! Courtney would soon be arriving with her bridesmaids so we captured some aerial shots for the wedding video before starting with the prep footage. After capturing some detail shots, Courtney arrived and was ready to put on her wedding dress in preparation for her first look with her Dad and with Gabriel. We can’t even begin to explain how precious her Dad’s reaction was the first time he saw his little girl on her wedding day…so sweet! Once Gabriel arrived with his groomsmen we were soon ready to head out to a remote spot in the park where the sweet couple shared their first look. It was so gorgeous and everything went seamlessly (despite a light sprinkle of rain…but nobody was going to let that get in the way of this wedding)! And did we mention that we had the honor and privilege to work alongside the fabulously talented duo of Matt and Kelsey Malicote with Malicote Photography all day? Working with such great photographers makes capturing wedding video footage so much more exciting! Matt and Kelsey are simply the best!

As the ceremony got underway guests filled in an area full of white folding chairs just alongside the lodge where Gabriel and Courtney would share their vows. The ceremony had so many special touches to it. The minister was Courtney’s cousin and he did an outstanding job challenging the newlyweds to love one another and keep Christ at the center of their relationship. Moments later, Gabriel and Courtney recited their vows to one another and exchanged their rings. And did you see their beautiful rings on the wedding video? So awesome! Gabriel’s was especially unique in the sense that it was designed to look like a baseball.

The reception was just a few short steps away from where the ceremony was held at The Gheens Foundation Lodge. Guests were invited to enter through the front doors of the Lodge where they would pick up their place cards, which just so happened to be custom-printed baseball tickets (brilliant idea!). As guests entered the reception area, instead of signing a guest book everyone was encouraged to write on a home plate (the baseball kind…not something from Bed, Bath and Beyond) which was designed by Courtney’s dad (and by the way, much of the décor was made by Courtney dad and Gabriel’s dad!). The decorations were so unique and the personal touches helped make this day even more special (if only we had more time to showcase everything in the wedding video!).

The first dance took place at the start of the reception and after guests were treated to a delicious buffet, it was time for dessert! Along with the wedding cake, cupcakes and candy bar, Courtney had a groom’s cake made for Gabriel that was actually a cookie cake in the shape of a baseball field which featured the logos for the Louisville Cardinals, Gabriel’s alma mater. Once the cake was cut the dance floor opened up and the party really got started. Just before we wrapped up filming her wedding video, Courtney shared a special moment with her sorority girls as they gathered around her to sing a special song and we all went outside for a spectacular sparkler send-off.

We loved capturing Gabriel and Courtney’s wedding video. We loved capturing on film the sweet love they share and are so happy that at last, they’re together as husband and wife. Gabriel and Courtney, we hope that you will enjoy watching your wedding video for many years to come and will treasure always being able to reflect back on such a wonderfully special day. Blessings to the both of you!
